DRIVING THROUGH THE TOWN I HAD NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE

ROWS OF PRETTY SHOPS IT WAS UNSEASONABLY MILD AND RAIN WAS COMING IN I COULD SEE IT OVER THE CLOUDS CREEPING IN FROM THE LAKE
I GOT BREAKFAST ON PHOENIX STREET WALKED DOWN TO THE PIER IT BEGAN TO RAIN A MILE FROM MY TRUCK I WALKED ALONE TO EDGE OF THE PIER THE STORM CAME THE WAVES CRASHED ALONG THE STONE SIDES MY BOOTS WERE SOAKED I GOT BACK INTO MY TRUCK AND WENT BACK TO MY ROOM WRITING ALL DAY AT THE TINY DESK A SMALL PILE OF MAGAZINES AND NOTEPADS I HAD BROUGHT WITH ME SITTING ON THE COFFEE TABLE BEHIND ME AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR OUT OF THE CASE
I GOT BREAKFAST AGAIN AT PHOENIX STREET SAT AT THE COUNTER AND DRANK A LOT OF COFFEE ASKED FOR HOT SAUCE WITH MY VEGGIE HASH THEY GAVE ME FRANK’S I HATE FRANK’S I POINTED TO THE TABASCO BEHIND THE BAR NEAR THE BLOODY MARY MIX THE WAITRESS ASKED IF I WAS GOING TO COME BACK I SAID “YEAH, MAYBE TOMORROW, WHERE WILL YOU BE TONIGHT?” SHE SAID IDLER’S, AND I SAID I’D SEE HER THERE MAYBE I’D BE THERE WITH BABY I WANTED TO SEE WHERE THE YOUNG PEOPLE WENT IT RAINED THAT NIGHT

One of the most unsettling albums i have heard in a while. Chat Pile creates a grotesque blend of noise and groove that brings me back everytime.

I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian)

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once.....
